La psicoterapia es un proceso de interaccin humana que tiene un fin culturalmente definido y que posee un conjunto de reglas que lo enmarcan socialmente. Como en toda interaccin humana, los participantes regulan verbal y no verbalmente su interaccin para alcanzar los fines que han acordado. Este libro presenta un estudio sobre la expresin verbal de la regulacin mutua en un proceso de psicoterapia, focalizando sobre la interaccin discursiva entre un paciente y su terapeuta. Utilizando la visin espistemolgica y metodolgica del dialogicismo, los resultados obtenidos permitieron determinar un conjunto de posiciones discursivas que adoptan los participantes durante el dilogo teraputico, las que son conceptualizadas como sujetos discursivos o posiciones subjetivas. Tales posiciones poseen caractersticas psicolgicas y discursivas que las identifican y diferencian. Durante el proceso teraputico regulan la interaccin entre s y con el otro en el dilogo teraputico. Estos hallazgos permitieron generar un modelo sobre el cambio y rupturas de la alianza teraputica que iluminan la discusin sobre las nociones de subjetividad e intersubjetividad implcitas en el estudio.
