Noch immer ist unklar, welche grundlegenden Mechanismen fr die stetig steigende Zahl der Asthma Erkrankungen in den Industrienationen innerhalb der letzten Jahrzehnte verantwortlich sind. Regulatorische Immunzellen wie zum Beispiel Dendritische Zellen (DC) und regulatorische T Zellen scheinen dabei eine magebliche Rolle zu spielen. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden deshalb beide Zelltypen adressiert. Einerseits wurden DC spezifische transgene Mausmodelle generiert, andererseits wurden bereits bestehende Mausmodelle wie zum Beispiel CCL17 k/o Muse sowie DEREG (depletion of regulatory T cells) Muse im in vivo Modell der allergischen Atemwegsentzndung untersucht. Dabei konnte gezeigt werden, dass das von DCs sekretierte Zytokin CCL17 unter bestimmten Bedingungen die Ausprgung von Asthma beeinflusst. Durch die Depletion von regulatorischen T Zellen whrend der Sensibilisierung oder Provokation im Mausmodell konnte gezeigt werden, dass dieser Zelltyp eine herausragende Rolle innehat, um das Immunsystem in der Balance zu halten.
