About the Author Andre Makine naci en 1957 en Krasnoiarsk, Siberia. Tras estudiar en Kalinin y en Mosc, fue profesor de filosofa en Novgorod. En 1987, a los treinta aos, se exili en Francia, donde reside desde entonces. Todas sus novelas han sido traducidas a numerosos idiomas. En 1995 recibi el Premio Goncourt y el Premio Mdicis por El testamento francs, su primera novela, publicada por Tusquets Editores (Andanzas 284 y Fbula 184), al igual que las cinco tituladas El crimen de Olga Arblina, La msica de una vida Grand Prix RTLLire 2001, Entre el cielo y la tierra, La mujer que esperaba y Rquiem por el Este (Andanzas 453, 486, 563, 611 y 646). En 2005 Makine mereci el premio de la Fondation Prince Pierre de Monaco por el conjunto de su obra.
