In Retro Recipes from the 50s and 60s, Cutthroat Kitchen star Addie Gundry serves up nostalgic recipes from the Mad Men era, like Beef Wellington and Grasshopper Pie. Postwar rationing became a distant memory, and the rise of home entertainment culture made for prettier, more complex food. With French influence from Julia Child, and elegant aspirational figures like Jacqueline Kennedy, suburban dinner parties went glam. Backyard barbecues, fondues gathering everyone around a table, and not to mention cocktail parties were booming. From 1950s casseroles and hors doevres to more modern, adventurous dishes, theres plenty to celebrate and embrace! Each recipe is paired with a fullcolor, fullbleed finished dish photo.

I bought this Retro Recipes book as a gift for my mom, and she couldn't stop smiling! The 103 vintage appetizers and dinners took her back to her childhood. The nostalgic drink recipes are a nice touch too. Can't wait to try some of these old-school dishes together!

Damaged Book on Arrival
I had high hopes for this cookbook, but it arrived with a bent cover and a few pages crinkled. It's a shame because the recipes looked like a lot of fun. I’m hoping to get a replacement because I really want to try these retro meals!

Great Collection for Nostalgia Lovers
If you love retro food, this book is a must-have! The appetizers are particularly charming, and I was impressed by the variety of recipes. I just wish the photos were a bit more colorful to match the vibrant dishes. Overall, it's a fun way to spice up dinner parties!

Fun, But Some Recipes Miss the Mark
This cookbook has some adorable vintage recipes that are super fun to explore. However, a few of the drink recipes were a bit too sweet for my taste. Still, I found some gems like the cheese puffs that I can't wait to make for my next gathering. Worth the buy!
