In Return to the Sea, a young girl and her family set off on a summer road trip from Ontario to the Maritimes. On their way to their grandparents cottage in New Brunswick they visit many of the most famous tourist attractions east of Ontario: historic Quebec City; the worlds longest covered bridge in Hartland, New Brunswick; the legendary tides of the Bay of Fundy; Peggys Cove; the city of Halifax; and Annes Prince Edward Island. Everything from the car ride, to pirate stories, bonfires, and bike rides, is cherishingly documented by a young girl.Following in the footsteps of East to the Sea, Heidi Jardine Stoddarts Return to the Sea is another enchanting story that captures the wonder and curiosity of a child. Stoddarts storybook rhyming verse is accompanied by her detailed illustrations making this a perfect tale for all children. In particular, this book makes a wonderful souvenir for boys and girls who have visited the east coast: like the characters in the book, they can remember and recount their magical trip.

The book is colorful and engaging for children, which is a big plus! However, I wish the pages were thicker; they seem a bit fragile. My son loves the underwater scenes, but I worry about them lasting long with regular use.

Arrived Damaged, Very Disappointed
Unfortunately, my copy of 'Return to the Sea' showed up with the cover dented and some pages crinkled. I was planning to read it with my daughter, but now it looks like it won't hold up. I’ll be returning it.

A Beautiful Book for Ocean Lovers
'Return to the Sea' is such a stunning book! The illustrations are vibrant and really capture the essence of marine life. I bought it as a gift for my niece who loves the ocean, and she can't put it down. It’s a perfect blend of education and art.

Nice Read, But Some Pages Came Ripped
I enjoyed the stories in 'Return to the Sea', but I was disappointed to find a couple of pages were torn when it arrived. The content itself is great for kids, and I appreciate the focus on ocean conservation.
