Los autores proponen un anlisis exhaustivo y crtico del estndar IEC 61000415, que establece un procedimiento de medida del flicker, es decir, de la molestia provocada por el parpadeo de las fuentes de luz producido por las fluctuaciones en su tensin de alimentacin. A medida que avanza el estudio comienzan a aparecer las principales consecuencias problemticas asociadas al modelado que plantea el estndar para la caracterizacin de la molestia. Los autores, adems, se hacen eco y corroboran importantes discrepancias entre los resultados proporcionados por distintas campaas de medida del flicker en diversas localizaciones de todo el mundo y la ausencia de reclamaciones por parte de los usuarios. A partir de estos resultados experimentales, se relacionan con claridad esas desviaciones y las deficiencias del modelado descubiertas previamente. Finalmente, los autores proporcionan una estrategia alternativa al procedimiento de medida planteado por el estndar, minimizando, de ese modo, las desviaciones en la evaluacin del flicker.
