Es gibt kaum Literatur zur Rhetorik im Unterricht; in den Unterrichtsplnen wird die Disziplin kaum bercksichtigt. Doch wie bereits in der Antike ist die Rhetorik auch heute wichtig, in Zeiten, in denen man sich selbst gut verkaufen, d.h. andere von sich berzeugen muss. Doch diese berzeugung durch Reden muss gelernt und trainiert werden. Nicht umsonst werden viele Rhetorikseminare an Volkshochschulen, von Studentenwerken und von privaten Anbietern durchgefhrt. Doch viel besser wre es, Rhetorik bereits in den Deutschunterricht sptestens ab der Orientierungsstufe einzubauen. Denn ber die Schuljahre hinweg knnten die Schler das Wissen bereits nutzen und anwenden, da Vortrge in fast jedem Schulfach gefordert werden. Durch die Vernachlssigung der Rhetorik kommt es hufig zu vielen Fehlern bei Vortrgen, die vom Inhalt ber den Aufbau bis zur Vortragsweise reichen. Diese Fehler festigen sich und zeigen sich oft sogar noch in Vortrgen, wenn der Referent sich bereits im Tertirbereich seines Bildungsweges befindet. Jedoch knnte man diese Fehler mit einer Einfhrung in die Rhetorik in der Schule vermeiden. Fr eine Umsetzung gibt es in der Literatur aber noch keine konkreten Vorschlge, so dass viele Lehrer vielleicht auch deshalb davor zurckschrecken, das Thema im Unterricht zu behandeln. Weil es aber eben noch keine Vorgaben fr die Rhetorik als Unterrichtseinheit gibt, kann jeder Lehrer die Einheit, wenn er sie doch behandeln mchte, frei gestalten.
