[...] So wurde die Idee geboren, im Rahmen einer Hausarbeit ein wenig von dem zu bewahren, was mit dem Ende dieser Kunsttradition der Vergessenheit anheim zu fallen droht. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit soll es demnach primr sein der Lebensgeschichte des Puppenspielers Richard Richter in einer Art literarhistorischen Spurensuche als Exemplum fr die untergehende Kultur des Wandertheaters nachzugehen und die erlangten Erkenntnisse zu dokumentieren. Sekundre Absicht dieser Abhandlung ist es berlegungen darber anzustellen, in welchem Kontext und auf welche sinnvolle Weise diese literarhistorische Suche im Deutschunterricht der gymnasialen Oberstufe verwirklicht werden kann. Aufgrund des hohen zeitlichen und koordinativen Aufwandes muss der zweite Aspekt hinter dem ersteren zurckstehen, da sonst der gesetzte Umfang der Hausarbeit gesprengt wrde. Als Grundlage und Quelle sollte von Anfang an auf die erzhlte mndliche Lebensgeschichte Richard Richters zurckgegriffen werden, um einen authentischen, nur durch den persnlichen Erinnerungsfilter Richard Richters getrbten Einblick in Lebensweise und umstnde eines WanderPuppenspielers zu erhalten. Die Geschichtswissenschaft nennt die hier angewandte Untersuchungsmethode Oral History'.
