Language Notes Text: Spanish About the Author Carmen Martn Gaite se licenci en Filosofa y Letras. Adems de ensayos, crticas y estudios histricos, ha publicado una extensa obra narrativa, entre la que cabe destacar: El balneario, Las ataduras, Entre visillos (Premio Nadal 1957), Ritmo lento, Retahlas, Fragmentos de interior, El cuarto de atrs (Premio Nacional de Literatura 1978), Nubosidad variable, La reina de las nieves e Irse de casa. En 1988 le fue concedido el Premio Prncipe de Asturias de las Letras. Carmen Martn Gaite falleci en Madrid en el ao 2000.
