I was really looking forward to this book, but honestly, it didn’t live up to the hype for me. The narrative felt disjointed, and I expected more focus on Stevenson’s writings rather than just his life events. Disappointed with how it turned out.

I picked up 'Robert Louis Stevenson in Samoa' expecting just a basic biography, but it’s so much more! The author paints such vivid pictures of Stevenson’s life and the beautiful Samoan landscape. I couldn't put it down! Perfect for anyone who loves classic literature and travel stories.

Interesting, but a Bit Slow
While I enjoyed the insights into Stevenson's life in Samoa, the pacing felt a bit slow at times. I think it could have been more engaging with a few more anecdotes. Still, glad I read it as a fan of his novels. Just be prepared for some slower sections if that’s not your thing.
