Jede der Hochspezialisierten Funktionen trgt zwar zum Diagnose und Heilungsprozess bei, keine einzelne ist jedoch fr das Endresultat alleine zustndig. Die Qualitt des Resultats hngt immer strker von der Zusammenarbeit zwischen den einzelnen Diensten, von der Integration von Personen und Gerten ab. Im Vergleich zur Industrie fehlte bisher im Gesundheitswesen die Koordination der Kern und Supportprozesse im Hinblick auf die Qualitt des Endresultats und insbesondere eine Strategie zur kontinuierlichen Qualittsentwicklung. Die Notwendigkeit, auch in Spitlern, Kliniken und Heimen auf die Bedrfnisse der internen und externen Kunden prziser und rascher einzugehen, erfordert eine interne Reorganisation, die der Interdisziplinaritt und Komplementaritt Rechnung trgt. Es handelt sich insgesamt um ein wichtiges strategisches Entwicklungsinstrument.
