Rosa Luxemburg (18711919) was Polish, Jewish, and a woman in an international socialist movement dominated by Germans, gentiles, and men. For Luxemburg, there was no real socialism without democracy and no real democracy without socialism. In this biography Stephen Eric Bronner establishes Luxemburgs legacy to contemporary socialist theory and practice.

I found Luxemburg's perspectives intriguing, but some of the references feel a bit outdated. It's great for historical context, but newer readers might struggle to connect. Still worth a read if you’re into revolutionary theory, though!

Not What I Expected
I bought this hoping for more straightforward commentary, but it’s quite dense. While I admire Luxemburg’s passion, the writing can be hard to follow. It’s good for serious students, but casual readers might find it tough to engage with.
