Schon bald hat er aber nicht nur die Katze als neuen Mitbewohner, sondern auch eine junge Frau, die er bewusstlos in einer Strae Bangkoks liegend gefunden hat und die er wie schon zuvor die Katze bei sich aufnimmt. Die junge Frau nennt sich Rover, kann sich aber nicht daran erinnern, wer sie ist und was sie eigentlich in Bangkok verloren hat. Bei dem Versuch, herauszufinden, wer Rover denn nun ist, ereignen sich Dinge, die die Frage aufwerfen, was hier eigentlich noch Realitt ist oder nicht doch vielmehr aus einem von Butler Geralds Romanen entstiegen sein knnte.
