Product Description Genau 100 Jahre nach seiner Einweihung ist der Sdwestkirchhof in Stahnsdorf in mancher Hinsicht einzigartig. Dies gilt im Vergleich mit allen anderen Friedhfen im Groraum Berlin, aber auch deutschlandweit nimmt dieser Friedhof in Trgerschaft der Evangelischen Kirche eine Sonderstellung ein. Mit gut 200 Hektar und ber 120.000 Bestatteten eine der grten Grablegen Europas, der Erhaltung wertvoller lterer Grabdenkmale nach bemerkenswert, ist dieser Friedhof auch im Hinblick auf seine friedhofsgrtnerische Anlage und seine Rolle als Naturraum einzigartig. Im Bemhen um eine angemessene Weiterentwicklung der Begrbnis und Trauerkultur im Industriezeitalter entstand die Idee des Waldfriedhofs, fr den die Stahnsdorfer Anlage eines der frhesten und bedeutendsten Beispiele bildet. Die Trennung des Friedhofs von seinem Einzugsgebiet im Westteil Berlins nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg fhrte zu einer starken Einschrnkung der Nutzung mit interessanten Folgen fr die Ausbreitung der Flora und Fauna innerhalb der Kulturlandschaft des Sdwestkirchhofs. Durch die Gestaltung und die ber Jahrzehnte in nahezu uneingeschrnkter Ruhe mgliche Entwicklung hat sich hier eine beeindruckende Artenvielfalt bei Pflanze und Tier etabliert. Die Flora des Friedhofs, der angemessene Umgang mit ihr und ein Blick auf das historische Konzept sowie die hier begrabenen Botaniker bilden die Hauptthemen dieses Buches. About the Author THOMAS MARIN, Jahrgang 1965, ist seit 2008 katholischer Seelsorger an der Jugendstrafanstalt Berlin und seit 2010 zustzlich an der JVA Pltzensee. Von Dezember 2015 bis zum Frhjahr 2018 leitete er ein Schreibprojekt mit jungen Strafgefangenen der Jugendstrafanstalt, dessen Ergebnisse hier prsentiert werden.
