Analytic philosophy has become the dominant philosophical tradition in the Englishspeaking world. This book illuminates that tradition through a historical examination of a crucial period in its formation: the rejection of Idealism by Bertrand Russell and G.E. Moore at the beginning of the twentieth century, and the subsequent development of Russells thought in the period before the First World War.

I absolutely love the content of this book, Russell really knows his stuff. However, it took over a week longer than expected to arrive, which was a bit annoying. I emphasize the philosophy, but the shipping could definitely be improved!

Thought-Provoking but Dense
Russell's work is incredibly insightful, but I found some sections a bit heavy to parse through. The discussions on idealism challenged my views but required a lot of focus. Still, I think it's a worthwhile book if you're willing to put in the effort.

Deep Dive into Philosophy
If you're into philosophy, this book by Russell is a must-read. It's fascinating how he discusses the emergence of analytic philosophy in such a clear way. The Clarendon paperback edition feels great in hand too, perfect for long reading sessions!

A Must for Analytical Philosophy Lovers
This book is a fantastic exploration of analytic philosophy. Russell's arguments are compelling, and the paperback format makes it easy to take notes in. I've enjoyed revisiting different sections, really helps with my studies!

Not What I Expected
I wanted to love this book, but the style just didn’t click with me. Some chapters felt a bit convoluted, and I was hoping for clearer explanations. It might be good for some, but I was left a bit disappointed.
