Salsa and Afro Cuban Montunos For Piano authored by Carlos Campos is an extremely informative 92 page book containing hundreds of musical examples showing you how to play in these aforementioned Latin styles. Mr. Campos who teaches at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood originates from Lima Peru and has studied Latin music for over 20 years. This book contains great study material for learning the various techniques and rhythms used in playing Latin piano styles. It can be used as a source to practice reading syncopated rhythms. Audio tracks of piano and percussion rhythm tracks of many of the examples comes with the book. MIDI files are also available

This book is a blast! The montunos are diverse and super fun to play around with on the piano. I’ve been using the audio files to jam along, which makes learning so much easier. Definitely recommended for anyone into Latin music!
