The book reports components answered questions related to the contribution of charcoal production to the local economy, the way populations of selected species changed by the activity and the way these species recover. Amongst other, Acacia nigrescens, A. nilotica, Ziziphus mucronata are the most utilised species for charcoal production, due to hard wood quality, which result in high revenue in southerer Mozambique, Southern Mozambique. The charcoal production is being done by the outsider, gaining high revenue in the study area. Local community households was found not sharing the benefiting of production.
