Las Subestaciones de transmisin de una compaa de electricidad generan gran cantidad de informacin y ofrecen facilidad para su control, gracias a que poseen dispositivos electrnicos inteligentes (DEI) instalados en campo. Sin embargo, al no contar con herramientas adecuadas para aprovechar al mximo estas caractersticas estn siendo subutilizados, lo que se traduce en perdidas para la empresa. La actual poltica de implementacin de dispositivos electrnicos inteligentes DEI, para monitoreo y diagnostico de subestaciones es de hecho la tendencia mundial en las compaas de transmisin y distribucin de energa elctrica. El objetivo de este Tesis fue disear e implementar un sistema HMI/SCADA (Interfase Hombre Maquina/Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition), el cual lleva como nombre CORDILLERA, para una subestacin de transmisin de energa elctrica, aprovechando los DEI que se encuentran instalados en sta. El resultado fue un sistema amigable, altamente configurable y de gran conectividad con los DEI instalados en el campo.
