Jahrhundert bei Bozen erbaut wurde. Hauptuntersuchungsgegenstand sind dabei die Bildprogramme des Westpalas. Die Fresken dieses Gebudes sind sehr interessant, da sich aus ihnen eine gute Darstellung des Alltagslebens und der Vergngungen der hfischen Gesellschaft im Mittelalter ergibt. Als Literatur dient vor allem der Ausstellungskatalog aus dem Jahr 2000. Mit dem Westpalas beschftigt sich besonders der Aufsatz von Christina Domanski und Margit Krenn . Aber auch ltere Forschungsliteratur wird hinzugezogen, hier vor allem die Werke von Nicolo Rasmo und Otto Ritter von Lutterotti. An den entsprechenden Stellen wird auch immer wieder auf weiterfhrende Spezialliteratur verwiesen. Die Arbeit ist in zwei groe Abschnitte gegliedert. Der erste Teil soll einen berblick ber Schloss Runkelstein geben und dabei vor allem auf die lange Geschichte des Schlosses aufzeigen. Es wird auch auf die Bedeutung eingegangen, die die Gebrder Vintler fr die Wandmalereien hatten. Im zweiten Teil werden dann die berreste des Bildprogramms des Westpalas untersucht. Zuerst wird auf die Besonderheiten der Bildprogramme des Westpalas hingewiesen und dabei der Zusammenhang mit der Geschichte der Familie Vintler aufgezeigt. Bei der Betrachtung der Wandmalereien wird mit dem Saal der Ritter" im Erdgeschoss begonnen werden. Im ersten Stock finden sich dann zwei Rume von denen sich der eine in das Wappenzimmer" und die Kammer der Ritterspiele" aufteilt. Der andere Raum in dieser Etage wird die Badestube" genannt.
