Primitive und schlechte Stallverhltnisse in der Zeit bis Ende der 1940er Jahre setzten den Tieren ebenso zu, wie die strohlose Haltung, das Anbinden der Sauen und die Kfighaltung der Lufer in den LPG und VEG der DDR; hierzu werden zahlreiche Beispiele dargestellt. Die Schweine mussten das ertragen, was die Menschen ihnen zugemuteten, sie konnten nicht aufbegehren, wenn sie in den Grnderjahren der LPG sogar manchmal Hunger leiden mussten. Sie sind der wichtigste Fleischlieferer fr uns Menschen und gelten als Glcksbringer, trotzdem ist ihr Name oft ein Schimpfwort.About the AuthorErnst Woll wurde 1931 in Hohenleuben (Thringen) geboren. Nach dem Abitur 1950 schloss sich ein veterinrmedizinisches Studium in Leipzig an; 1958 promovierte er dort und bte anschlieend im ehemaligen Bezirk Erfurt verschiedene tierrztliche Ttigkeiten aus. Er bernahm ab 1974 in Erfurt leitende Aufgaben in der tierrztlichen Lebensmittelhygiene bis er 1994 Rentner wurde. E. Woll ist seit 1952 verheiratet, hat 4 Kinder und wohnt ab 1960 in Erfurt. Im Ruhestand findet er Zeit fr sein Hobby, erlebte Geschichte und Geschichten aufzuzeichnen.
