Product Description Auteur : Philosophe injustement nglig aujourd'hui, Charles Renouvier (18151903) a particip activement, tout au long du XIXe sicle, l'avnement de la Rpublique. Il partage en 1848 l'enthousiasme des rvolutionnaires et cherche donner un contenu dmocratique et social la Rpublique. Le coup d'Etat de 1851 est pour lui un choc dont il tirera les leons 20 ans durant. Aprs l'effondrement de 1870, il s'engage en faveur du rtablissement de la Rpublique et dans la lutte contre le lourd hritage de la monarchie et du catholicisme. En 1869, il publie son principal ouvrage de philosophie politique, La science de la morale, et fonde en 1872 la revue hebdomadaire La critique philosophique, consacre la dfense des principes rpublicains. Livre : La science de la morale, qui connut un grand succs sous la Troisime Rpublique, opre un retour politique Kant, en donnant la philosophie de la Rpublique sa thorie du droit et de la justice. La rflexion sur les fondements, chez Renouvier, est insparable d'une morale laque capable de concilier le devoir et le bonheur.
