The definitive book for anyone wanting to learn how the best gemologists in the world evaluate precious gems, and what makes one stone merely a good stone versus a truly fabulous museum-quality gem. The author, Richard W. Wise, is one of the worlds foremost gemologists.

I bought this book for my husband who's been collecting gems for years, and he found it super informative. The descriptions are clear and concise, but the book did take a while to arrive. Overall, a solid purchase!

Good Read but a Bit Dry
While 'Secrets of the Gem Trade' has a lot of valuable information, I felt it lacked some engaging storytelling. As someone new to gemstones, I appreciated the info but found it a little tough to get through at times. Still glad I picked it up!

Disappointed with the Quality
I expected more from this book given the reviews. Unfortunately, it arrived with a few pages creased, which was a letdown. I was hoping for a pristine condition as promised. Not sure if I'd recommend it based on my experience.
