RapeseedMustard is an important oilseed crop of India. The full potential of this crop is far from being exploited due to several abiotic and biotic stresses. The crop suffers from many fungal diseases and some of these diseases are seedborne like Alternaria leaf blight, charcoal rot, downy mildew and head rot. Among these, Alternaria leaf blight caused by Alternaria brassiceae. Tubaki and Nishihara have been considered as a potentially destructive disease in many Brassica growing countries.Seed being a biological entity, is very often subjected to deterioration in storage due to microorganisms. Seed storage is an important parameter which is very much essential to realize the gains from the pains taken to produce seeds. Seed borne diseases cause enormous losses to our crop. The infected seeds may fail to germinate, transmit disease from seed to seedling and from seedling to growing plants
