The general plan of the text in the present first edition of this book has been retained since its inception in 2008. Entire text has been thoroughly checked and revised. Many new topics have been prepared to bring the book in the line with syllabi of different universities. This book has written in such a way as to help the undergraduate students studying seed biology in two ways: (i) A very simple language used throughout the book has made the subject matter easily understandable (ii) Great emphasis has been laid on basic fundamentals with simultaneous incorporation of most uptodate information in sufficient details, so that the students may have solid background for further higher education. Although primarily mean for undergraduate students, this book will also be of great use to honors and post graduate students. I am thankful to readers both teachers and students for their valuable suggestions in improving this present edition.
