En esta tesis de maestra se presenta la implementacin de un sistema seguidor de objetos robusto a oclusiones parciales, rotacin y escala para una variedad de diferentes objetos permitiendo movimientos rpidos de stos y de la cmara. Para lograrlo, el objeto es representado por puntos caractersticos o de inters, los cules son descritos en mltiples resoluciones, obteniendo as una representacin del punto en diferentes escalas lo que aade un cmputo ms rpido debido a que se hace fuera de lnea. Los puntos de inters son extrados con el detector de Harris, y descritos usando un algoritmo llamado SURF (Speeded Up Robust Features). Para seguir al objeto se utiliza un filtro de Kalman conocido como UKF(Unscented Kalman Filter) estimando la posicin y la escala del objeto, con el uso de sta aproximacin se muestran buenos resultados con respecto al framerate, deteccin del objeto, seguimiento y recuperacin del sistema aun cuando existen oclusiones totales del objeto.
