Whrend zahlreiche Studien die Bedeutung des Selbstkonzepts bei lteren Kindern und Jugendlichen belegen, existieren bislang nur wenige Untersuchungen, die das Selbstkonzept junger Kinder mit schulischen Leistungen oder Wohlbefinden in der Schule in Beziehung setzen. Diese Lngsschnittstudie bei Kindern in der Schuleingangsstufe untersucht diese Zusammenhnge und prft dabei, ob sich drei theoretische Anstze (SkillDevelopmentAnsatz, BigFishLittlePondEffekt und Internal/ExternalFrameofReferenceModell), die sich zur Erklrung der Selbstkonzeptgenese bei lteren Kindern bewhrt haben, an der vorliegenden Stichprobe replizieren lassen. Aufgrund inhaltlicher Nhe des Selbstkonzepts zum Wohlbefinden in der Schule liegt ein weiterer Schwerpunkt auf der empirischen Abgrenzbarkeit der beiden Konstrukte. Als Grundlage dienen Daten von 821 Kindern (6 bis 7 Jahre) aus einer in der Deutschschweiz durchgefhrten wissenschaftlichen Evaluation von zwei neuen Schulmodellen (Grundstufe bzw. Basisstufe) der Bildung 4 bis 8jhriger Kinder in jahrgangsbergreifenden Klassen der Eingangsstufe. Die Befunde werden mit Blick auf Implikationen fr die schulische Praxis diskutiert.
