Bei aller Vielfalt der in den Ietzten Monaten veroffentlichten wissen schaftlichen Literatur tiber das weite Feid 'Alternative Okonomie' faIlt auf, daB sich das Interesse der Forschung wie der Politik auf zwei Fragenkomplexe zu beschr3.nken scheint: Gegenstand der einen Forschungsrichtung sind soziale, auf Selbsthilfe basierende Projekte. Die Fragen kreisen hauptsachlich urn die Bedeutung und Funktion dieser Projekte im Rahmen staatlicher Sozialpolitik in der Krise. Gegenstand der zweiten Forschungsrichtung sind 'Iokale Beschiifti gungsinitiativen', zu denen auch Selbstverwaltete Betriebe gerechnet werden. Von Interesse ist dabei die Erfassung kiinftiger Beschafti gungspotentiale und die Rolle 'alternativen' Arbeitens fiir die Zu kunft der Arbeit. Selbst Studien, die Selbstverwaltete Betriebe zum Gegenstand haben, orientieren sich an dieser Forschungsrichtung. Die vorliegende Untersuchung eines Selbstverwalteten Betriebes un terscheidet sich von beiden Forschungsrichtungen grundsatzlich. Sie betritt beziiglich Untersuchungsansatz und gegenstand teilweise Neuland. 1m Mittelpunkt der Betrachtung steht die Selbstverwaltung als betriebliche Organisation. Aufgrund des Umfanges zu klarender Sachverhalte beschranken wir uns auf die Uberpriifung der Verwirk lichung genossenschaftlicher Prinzipien und die durch diese beding ten Veranderungen der Organisation, vor allem von Entscheidungs prozessen. Der Untersuchung liegt ein organisationssoziologischer Ansatz zugrunde. Ihr Ziel ist die Darstellung der Selbstverwaltung eines kollektiv ge Gegenstand Ieiteten Unternehmens mittlerer GroBe, urn Aussagen tiber die Mog der Studie lichkeit betrieblicher Selbstverwaltung in kleineren und mittleren Betrieben treffen zu konnen. Das Zentrum der Arbeit stellt die P sentation der Ergebnisse einer empirischen Untersuchung dar, die im Jahr 1988 durchgefiihrt wurde. Es schlieBen sich theoretische Uberlegungen zu zentralen Problemen betrieblicher Seibstverw tung an.
