With the 1946 general elections, the congress was back in office with Pant as the Chief Minister of U.P. About the Author Govind Ballabh Pant (18871961) was an Indian freedom fighter, an important political leader from Uttar Pradesh and of the movement to establish Hindi as the national language of India. B. R. Nanda is at Nehru Memorial Museum and Library.
