Experten sprechen in diesem Zusammenhang sogar von 'chemischer Gewalt'. Die Krankheit Demenz ist ein gesellschaftliches Phnomen, welches auf Grund des demografischen Wandels immer prsenter wird. Bereits der Gedanke an einen Lebensabend im Altersheim ist fr viele Menschen und deren Angehrige ein Alptraum. Dennoch ist der Umzug in eine stationre Einrichtung oft unumgnglich. Zurzeit werden mehr als zwei Drittel der Pflegebedrftigen in Deutschland zu Hause versorgt, doch sind die Angehrigen mit der Pflege hufig berfordert. Auf dem Weg zur Seniorengesellschaft sind daher neue Lsungen gefragt Alternativen zu Altersheimen und neue Umgangsformen mit Demenz. Das Ziel dieses Buches ist es, eine alternative Wohnform zum Altersheim fr Menschen mit Demenz, die sogenannten Hausgemeinschaften, vorzustellen. Eine spezielle Problematik ist auch die Situation der Senioren: Die Zahl der mangelernhrten Senioren hat in den letzten zwei Jahren um 52% zugenommen. Um der Mangelernhrung entgegenzuwirken gibt es unterschiedliche Methoden. Die vorliegende Studie untersucht, ob Biografiearbeit auf die Speisenversorgung bertragen und so Mangelernhrung verhindert und die Nahrungsaufnahme demenzkranker Personen in Hausgemeinschaften sichergestellt bzw. verbessert werden kann. Im Rahmen der vorliegenden Analyse wurden kulturelle Unterschiede bei der Umsetzung biografieorientierter Speisenversorgung in franzsischen und deutschen Hausgemeinschaften untersucht.
