Komplexe interdisziplinre Projekte verlangen nach einer systematischen Planung, die im Rahmen blicher Organisationsstrukturen nicht bewltigbar sind. Projekte innerhalb eines bestimmten Zeitpunktes und zu einem bestimmten Budget abzuschlieen, frdert ein erfolgreiches Projektmanagement. In dieser Entwicklung gewinnt auch die wertorientierte Unternehmensfhrung zunehmend an Bedeutung. Alfred Rappaport prgte mit seinem im Jahr 1986 erschienenen Buch "Creating Shareholder Value" den zentralen Begriff dieses Managementparadigmas. Dieser ist zur Leitmaxime des Managements geworden. Strategien werden danach bewertet, wie hoch deren Beitrag zur Steigerung des Unternehmenswertes ist. Die Frage, welcher im Rahmen dieser Arbeit nachgegangen wird, ist, wie beide Managementsysteme miteinander harmonisieren und welche Probleme, aber auch Chancen, sich bei der Synthese beider Konzepte ergeben. Es werden Erkenntnisse darber erlangt, wie das Projektmanagement zu modifizieren ist, um dem Shareholder Value zu gengen.
