Contemporary artists have the potential to hold a magnifying glass to the gaps in our community, highlighting social, economic and cultural discrepancies, and in some cases, offer creative alternative solutions. This work provides an analysis of some distinctly different culturally creative projects, which involve specific sections of society in the creative process. It explores how artists inventively create artworks or experiences that encourage engagement and dialogue that can subsequently challenge our current ways of thinking. This study sheds light on creative exchange and its social impact. It should be particularly useful to professionals and students interested in arts autonomy and its potential.
