Published by the Nautical Research Guild which is a nonprofit, tax exempt, international membership organization dedicated to maritime research and accurate ship model building. This book presents many of the shop notes found in the early issues of the Guild Journal and Secretary's Monthly Letter. The shop notes have been edited and condensed to represent the best collective knowledge pieces of model ship building. The author of each shop note is indicated and the volume number followed by the issue number of the Journal is shown. The materials used are those of the 1950's and 1960's, and though new modeling materials have appeared in the last ten years, the methods of working them remain similar To the inventive model builder these shop notes can be adapted to current model construction materials with ease. The problems discussed are varied and most model makers will find many useful hints applicable to their own project.
