[Read by Jim Gough]A collection of two stories by beloved Western writer Louis LAmourIn The Trail to Peach Meadow Canyon, Mike Bastian has been raised by outlaw chief Ben Curry and trained in frontier skills by Currys most trusted associates. Curry now wants to retire from leadership of the gang he has headed for years. But he is frustrated in this ambition by various factions within his gang who want to seize leadership and by Mike himself, who is not sure that he wants to lead the life of an outlaw. In Showdown Trail, Rock Bannon, wounded in an Indian attack, is rescued by a wagon train. When the train pulls into a fort to stock up on supplies, the leaders of the train meet the smoothtalking Morton Harper, who persuades them to take an easier trail. But Bannon knows that there will be no escape from attack on that route and that it will lead the train directly into Hardy Bishops vicious land war.

If you're a fan of westerns, this book is a solid read! The storyline flows well and the setting is beautifully illustrated. I appreciated the pace of the narrative, though it did slow down a bit in the middle. Still, a great choice for the genre!

Not very engaging
I found "Showdown Trail" to be a bit dull. The plot didn’t really grab me and some parts felt dragged out. I had high hopes based on the blurb, but it just didn't do it for me. Maybe it's better for others more into this genre.

Interesting but not what I expected
I picked up this book thinking it was more of a guide to the Peach Meadow Canyon, but it's actually a fictional story. It's entertaining, though, and has some great descriptions of the trail. Just wish the title was a bit clearer about the content.

A nice adventure read!
I really enjoyed "Showdown Trail: The Trail to Peach Meadow Canyon." The characters are well-developed, and the western theme really draws you in. It's an engaging story that kept me hooked until the end! Perfect for anyone looking for a fun getaway in book form.
