I really like the recipes in Shuck Beans, especially the fried chicken! But I found some instructions a bit vague, and I had to figure a few things out on my own. Still, it's a good book for anyone looking to dive into traditional southern cooking.

Disappointing for a Cookbook
Honestly, I was let down by Shuck Beans. The stack cake recipe didn't turn out well for me, and I felt the book could have been more comprehensive. I expected better quality from such a celebrated title. Not worth the price in my opinion.

A Taste of Home with Southern Flair
Shuck Beans is such a delightful read! The recipes for stack cakes and fried chicken remind me of my grandma's kitchen. The book captures the essence of southern cooking, and I can't wait to try out more recipes for family gatherings. It's like having a piece of home right in your hands!
