En este libro, se propone un nuevo mtodo de investigacin con simulaciones de eventos mecnicos (Mechanical Event Simulation, MES), como una alternativa a las metodologas experimentales y analticas, para el estudio del comportamiento dinmico de piezas en rotacin, con un modelo numrico de rodamiento de rodillos cilndricos, analizado por medio del mtodo de los elementos finitos en cdigo comercial Algor, para simulacin de eventos mecnicos. Con el modelo se analizar la distribucin de fuerzas de contacto sobre la pista externa debida a la dinmica de las piezas de rotacin del rodamiento. El modelo numrico fue validado por comparacin entre las fuerzas de reaccin de contacto rodillopista externa que proporciona, con las que se deducen del modelo analtico propuesto por JonesHarris. Se realiz con el modelo de rodamiento propuesto, un anlisis del deslizamiento de los elementos rodantes sobre la pista externa. El estudio permiti diferenciar una zona en la que el deslizamiento se mantiene prcticamente nulo: la zona de rodadura. Se realiza el estudio de los efectos de la velocidad del eje y del coeficiente de friccin sobre el deslizamiento y las fuerzas de contacto.
