Las empresas de distribucin de energa elctrica, en ocasiones suministran el servicio de energa elctrica usando las redes subterrneas. Estas redes subterrneas estn expuestas a problemas de funcionamiento derivados al comportamiento del aislamiento del conductor o cable o instalacin de la red subterrnea, los cuales pueden originar fenmenos que afectan la prestacin del servicio. Para mejorar la calidad de servicio a los clientes, las empresas de distribucin hacen uso de herramientas de simulacin que permiten el modelamiento de cables y que adems permitan realizar distintos tipos de anlisis, como Flujos de Carga, Corto Circuito, Coordinacin de Protecciones, entre otras. Adems se tiene la necesidad de analizar, diagnosticar y definir estudios necesarios para los sistemas subterrneos con el propsito u objetivo de garantizar el buen funcionamiento del sistema elctrico. El objetivo principal de este trabajo es realizar el modelamiento de circuitos de distribucin subterrnea, pertenecientes a una red de distribucin para anlisis trmico mediante el mdulo Anlisis Trmico para Sistemas Subterrneos disponible en el software ETAP.
