Es ist empirisch bewiesen, dass es singenden Menschen oftmals eher gelingt, ihr Leben besser zu bewltigen als Nichtsingenden. Anhand des Singens wird es dem Menschen ermglicht, seine Befindlichkeiten und Emotionen auszudrcken. Jedoch ist es nicht zu leugnen, dass das Singen als spontaner Ausdruck menschlicher Gefhle nur noch selten zu finden ist. Unsere Gesellschaft verweigert sich dem Singen gegenber, welches als eine besondere Ausdrucksform menschlichen Lebens gilt, und das Singen in der Schule ist leider hufig ein Abbild dieser gesellschaftlichen Zustnde. Welche Mglichkeiten existieren, das Singen im Musikunterricht der allgemeinbildenden Schulen wiederzubeleben? Das Musical steht heute im Blickfeld des Musikunterrichts, da der Reiz des Musicals auch Kinder und Jugendliche in seinen Bann zieht. Bietet somit das Genre Musiktheater, speziell die Gattung Musical einen hilfreichen Zugang, um das Singen fr Schler attraktiver zu gestalten? Welche musikalischen und sozialen Erfahrungen machen Schler im Bereich des Singens und welchen Einfluss hat ihre Lebenswelt darauf? Die vorliegende Arbeit beschftigt sich sowohl theoretisch als auch praktisch mit dem Thema Singen im Musikunterricht der allgemeinbildenden Schulen und bercksichtigt darin die Musicalarbeit als eine besondere Form des Singens in der Schule. Somit lsst sich im Verlauf eine Zweigliedrigkeit zwischen den beiden Themenbereichen Singen und Musical feststellen, die in der konkreten Darstellung des Musicalprojektes Tabaluga und Lilli praktisch aufgezeig
