Henry Hank Thompsons got a good thing goinga hut on a quiet Mexican beach, morning swims, a nice breakfast place a few miles down shore ... until a backpacker with a Russian accent shows up and starts asking questions about his past. Questions Hank doesnt want to deal with. And then the backpacker mentions the money ... and Hanks parents. So Hank makes a fateful move ... because no one threatens Hanks family. Now Thompson is on the rundodging federales and Russian mobsters, sneaking past the US Border Patrol, negotiating with nefarious businessmen, and trying desperately to avoid dying at the hands of two hellbent surfer bums who fancy themselves his allies. The result is a fullthrottle thriller, a cinematic adventure full of booze, bullets, loyalty, and love.

I bought 'Church of England' hoping for a gripping narrative, but it was more academic than I anticipated. While I appreciate the thorough research, I struggled to stay engaged. Just didn’t hit the mark for me.

Interesting, But Not for Everyone
This book has some insightful moments, but I felt it dragged in parts. If you're really into theological debates, you might love it, but it wasn't for me. Still, some interesting perspectives!

Excellent Analysis of Modern Church Issues
Six Bad Things nailed it with this one! The commentary on the Church of England's evolution is both relevant and timely. I found myself highlighting so many passages. Definitely worth checking out if you care about religious studies.

A Little Dense for Casual Readers
While 'Church of England' is filled with valuable insights, I found it a bit heavy for casual reading. I enjoyed some parts, but others felt quite dense. It might be better suited for someone with a deeper interest in religion.

A Thought-Provoking Read
I picked up 'Church of England' from Six Bad Things and it was a real eye-opener. The author digs deep into complex issues in a way that's engaging and thought-provoking. I loved the way it challenged my views on faith and society.
