Radar Expert, Esteemed Author Gregory L. Charvat on CNN and CBSAuthor Gregory L. Charvat appeared on CNN on March 17, 2014 to discuss whether Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 might have literally flown below the radar. He appeared again on CNN on March 20, 2014 to explain the basics of radar, and he explored the hope and limitations of the technology involved in the search for Flight 370 on CBS on March 22, 2014.Get His Book NowCoupling theory with reality, from derivation to implementation of actual radar systems, Small and ShortRange Radar Systems analyzes and then provides design procedures and working design examples of small and shortrange radar systems. Discussing applications from automotive to throughwall imaging, autonomous vehicle, and beyond, the practical text supplies highlevel descriptions, theoretical derrivations, backofenvelope calculations, explanations of processing algorithms, and case studies for each type of small radar system covered, including continuous wave (CW), ultrawideband (UWB) impulse, linear frequency modulation (FM), linear rail synthetic aperture radar (SAR), and phased array. This essential reference:Explains how to design your own radar devices Demonstrates how to process data from small radar sensors Provides realworld, measured radar data to test algorithms before investing development timeComplete with downloadable MATLAB scripts and actual radar measurements, Small and ShortRange Radar Systems empowers you to rapidly develop small radar technology for your application.

This book is a nice overview of short-range radar applications, but I was expecting more technical detail. It’s practical for beginners, yet if you’re looking for advanced topics, you might be a bit disappointed. Still, it's decent for what it is.

Confusing at times
While the book has some valuable insights into electrical engineering and radar systems, I found certain sections quite confusing. It could have used better explanations or examples. It’s okay, but I was hoping for a smoother read.

Solid introduction to radar systems
I bought this book on radar systems for my electrical engineering course, and it’s been a great resource. The modern approaches discussed are very practical, making complex topics easier to grasp. Definitely a good read for anyone entering the field!

Great reference material
I really liked this book! The practical approaches to radar engineering are clear and well-organized. I've used it for projects already and it has really helped me understand the concepts better. Highly recommend for students!
