Mons. Pedro Casciaro naci en Murcia en 1915, hijo de un catedrtico de Instituto que llegara a ser presidente provincial del Frente Popular. En 1935, cuando estudiaba arquitectura en Madrid, conoci a Josemara Escriv. Poco despus se vio envuelto en el remolino de peripecias y dificultades que trajo consigo la Guerra Civil. Tuvo oportunidad de vivir junto a san Josemara, y de ser testigo de captulos decisivos de la historia del Opus Dei. Fue ordenado sacerdote en 1946. Tres aos ms tarde se traslad a Mxico para iniciar la labor del Opus Dei en ese pas.
