This Publication Culminates In An Effort Begun In 1974, When Eric G. Hawkinson, Then Covenant Archivist, Translated The Book, Allmongesonen , By Carl Victor Bowman. Hawkinson Then Went On To Do The Same For An Unpublished Manuscript Bowman Wrote In 1929 And Intended As A Sequel To The Previously Published Volume. The Second Manuscript, Found Among Bowman'S Files After His Death, Was Preserved By His Son Malcolm.... The Book Itself Is Disarming In Its Forthright Style, As Bowman Writes With A Gentle Truthfulness About His Life. To Some Extent He Appears To Feel His Life Was Representative Of A Generation Of People Who, Like Himself, Were Products Of Social Upheaval Transformed By The Clear Grace And Working Of God Over The Years Of Their Lives; Hence, Son Of The People. In Choosing This Title, He Seemed To Be Saying That While Family Molds A Life, So Does The Wider Community, Especially The Community Of Faith. At The Same Time Bowman Emerges As A Thoughtful And Insightful Commentator On Topics Ranging From Pastoral Calls To Parental Discipline. Often His Views Bear A Remarkable Sense Of Contemporary Application. Excerpts From Book'S Introduction
