Bei den Recherchen flir meine DiplomArbeit zur Finanzierung der politischen Parteien in der Bundesrepublik stieB ich seinerzeit auf vereinzelte Hinweise zu einem Bereich der Parteienwirklichkeit, der sich damals trotz intensiver Literatur suche und begleitenden Nachforschungen in PresseArchiven, der Dokumentation von Gruner+Jahr und Nachfragen beim "Spiegel" nicht wesentlich aufhellen lieB: die parteieigenen Unternehmen. Immerhin weckten die im ersten Anlauf ermit telbaren Informationen mein Interesse daran, die wirtschaftlichen Aktivitaten von politischen Parteien mit einem groBeren Zeit budget systematisch zu erschlieBen. Die in den letzten Jahren an die 6ffentlichkeit dringenden fragwlirdigen Metho den der Geldbeschaffung durch bestimmte Parteien, bei denen haufig auch deren Unternehmen beteiligt waren, verstarkten dieses Interesse und hielten es wach. Gleichwohl geht es in der vorliegenden Untersuchung nicht urn irgendwelche "Ent hlillungen", sondern letztlich urn grundsatzlichere Fragestellungen: Warum grlinden politische Parteien liberhaupt wirtschaftliche Unternehmen? Welche Funktion er flillen diese im Rahmen einer modernen Parteiorganisation insgesamt? Unter wel chen Bedingungen konkurrieren diese Unternehmen untereinander? Der anfangliche Eindruck, es gabe wohl nur wenige jedenfalls zugangliche Quellen flir dieses Thema, veranlaBte mich, das Forschungsvorhaben umfassender anzulegen und nicht nur die wirtschaftlichen Unternehmen der etablierten Partei en CDU/CSU, FOP und SPD einzubeziehen, sondern dane ben auch vergleichbare Aktivitaten der (fast schon wieder vergessenen) Blirgerpartei und der NPD, der DKP und der KPD/ML sowie der Grlinen.
