Die Kinder und Jugendhilfe erlebt seit einigen Jahren durchgreifende Vernderungen. Angesichts gewandelter gesellschaftlicher Verhltnisse muss sie verstrkt auf Erziehungs und Bildungsdefizite reagieren. Zugleich wird sie aufgrund knapper finanzieller Spielrume vor allem in den kommunalen Haushalten mit der Frage konfrontiert, ob sie organisatorisch und konzeptionell richtig aufgestellt ist. Die Stadt Moers hat in einem mehrjhrigen Entwicklungsprozess eine organisatorische und zugleich konzeptionelle Neuausrichtung ihres Jugendamtes vorgenommen. Besondere Merkmale dieses Vorhabens waren die sehr enge Einbeziehung externer Beratung und eine vergleichsweise intensive und umfangreiche Beteiligung der Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter des Jugendamtes. Diese Publikation zeigt einige Stationen und Aspekte der Neugestaltung auf. Sie dokumentiert einen von groer Offenheit, Respekt und Vertrauen gekennzeichneten Vernderungsprozess und hlt zugleich viele Merkpunkte fest, die in der weiteren laufenden Arbeit Beachtung finden mssen.
