Spectroscopic measurements have been widely used to investigate the structure and analysis of some pharmaceutical and biologically active compounds. This book describes the spectroscopic investigation on Tinidazole, a drug belonging to antiprotozoal agent. The first chapter deals with the Infrared, Raman and UVVisible spectroscopy principles, instrumentation techniques and applications. The second chapter explains the qualitative analysis of Tinidazole using UVVisible spectral measurements. Proportionality of absorbance as a function of concentration of the sample and the measure of absorbance under different storage conditions of the sample are two of the quality assurance procedures carried out. The third chapter explains the vibrational spectral analysis and Internal standard calculation on Tinidazole. The pure sample of Tinidazole was stored at different storage conditions and FTIR spectra of the samples are compared. The internal standard calculation has been made only for the specific modes of vibration. It is concluded that the best storage condition for the drug is Light resistance container.
