Zuerst werden drei verschiedene Modelle vorgestellt, anhand derer Entscheidungen ber die optimale Nutzung von Wldern als Rohstofflieferanten getroffen werden knnen. Es wird sich allerdings schnell zeigen, dass diese Modelle nicht zu einer ganzheitlich effizienten Allokation fhren und auch Ursache fr ineffiziente Entscheidungen sein knnen. Im weiteren Verlauf der Arbeit stellt sich heraus, dass hufig falsche Anreize sowohl fr ganze Nationen als auch fr Landbesitzer bestehen, die zu einer nicht nachhaltigen Waldnutzung fhren. Darauf werden einige Konzepte vorgestellt, anhand derer die vorher identifizierten Anreize modifiziert werden oder neue Anreize geschaffen werden knnen. Die Darstellungen basieren auf den Erkenntnissen von Tom Tietenberg (2005). Schlielich wird dem Einfluss des globalen Holzmarktes auf die Nutzung von Wldern noch besondere Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. Abstract This paper deals with the natural, renewable ressource forest and forestry itself. First of all three di erent models will be introduced, with which one may decide about the optimal usage of forests as suppliers of raw materials. It will be discovered, that those models not only cannot lead to a holistic e cient allocation, but also might be the cause for ine cient decisions. Succeedingly it is found, that in many cases perverse incentives take place, either for whole nations or for landowners, that lead to a not sustainable use of forests.
