Was heute noch als aktuell, als in' bezeichnet wird, kann morgen schon wieder Schnee von gestern sein. Dabei hngt das, was wir gemeinhin als zeitgem verstehen von verschiedenen Bezugspunkten ab. Grundlegend fr einen anspruchsvollen Sportunterricht scheint, dass er aktuelle Voraussetzungen von Kindern und Jugendlichen bercksichtigt, neuere Vorstellungen von den Vorgaben und Aufgaben der Schule annehmen und eine konsensfhige pdagogische Leitidee zugrunde legen sollte. Das bedeutet, dass ein zeitgemer Sportunterricht nicht nur dem Zeitgeist entsprechen soll, sondern darber hinaus auch die Bedingungen unserer Zeit ernst nehmen und sie fachdidaktisch zu hinterfragen hat (vgl. Balz & Kuhlmann, 2003, S.145). Obwohl die fachdidaktische Diskussion in den letzten Jahren alles andere als einheitlich verlaufen ist, lassen sich derzeit vier zentrale miteinander konkurrierende Entwrfe zur Gestaltung des Schulsports ausmachen (Balz et. al., 2003, S. 149). Eines dieser vier Konzepte, das Sportartenprogramm, bildet dabei das Fundament dieser Arbeit. Dieses konservative Programm sieht sich speziell in den letzten Jahren mit heftiger Kritik konfrontiert. Bemngelt wird v.a., dass das Sportartenkonzept nicht mehr die Anforderungen an einen modernen Sportunterricht erfllt. Gerade der Mangel an weitreichenden sportpdagogischen Zielsetzungen bildet dabei die grte Angriffsflche fr die Kritiker dieses Konzepts.
