Inside, the reader will find improved coverage of time series analysis by the addition of a treatment of IRIMA models, improved coverage of regression with the addition of consideration of multicollinarity and correlated errors, increased material on Bayesian statistics, and a major section on the use of statistics in hydrologic and water quality modeling; which includes sensitivity analysis, Monte Carlo simulation, First Order Analysis, uncertainty analysis, parameter estimation for models, and calibration and verification of models.
A greater emphasis, in this new edition, has been on the use of computers in statistical analysis without the dependence on any one particular software vendor. I was disappointed with this book. It arrived with a few pages bent, and honestly, the content didn't meet my expectations. The statistical methods felt overly complicated, and I struggled to apply them to my own projects. I might need to look for a different resource.

Informative but a bit dense
This book covers a lot of ground in hydrology, which is great, but sometimes it felt a bit too technical for someone new to the field. I wish there were more simplified examples to help understand the statistical methods better. Still, it’s a solid reference for serious students.
