Explaining the things you need to know in order to read empirical papers in the social and health sciences, as well as techniques needed to build personal statistical models, this userfriendly volume includes background material on study design, bivariate regression, and matrix algebra. To develop technique, Freedman also includes computer labs, with sample computer programs, and illustrates the principles and pitfalls of modeling. The book is rich in exercises with answers. Target audiences include undergraduates and beginning graduate students in statistics, as well as students and professionals in the social and health sciences.

Statistical Models is a solid book packed with useful info, but I gotta admit, some parts felt a bit dry. Great for reference, but not the best for casual reading. I picked it up for my graduate studies and it's proven helpful, but I wish it was more engaging.

Insightful Read for Stat Enthusiasts
I found this book on statistical models to be incredibly insightful. The theory and practice sections really helped clarify some of the more complex concepts. It’s a bit dense at times, but if you’re serious about statistics, it’s worth the effort. Perfect for anyone looking to deepen their understanding!

Not What I Hoped For
Unfortunately, this book didn't meet my expectations. The explanations are often too complex without enough practical examples to back them up. I was hoping for something more accessible. Might work for seasoned statisticians, but I struggled with it.
