Do your students lack confidence in handling quantitative work? Do they get confused about how to enter statistical data on SAS and SPSS programs? This Second Edition of Mark Sirkins popular textbook is the solution for these dilemmas. The book progresses from concepts that require little computational work to the more demanding. It emphasizes utilization so that students appreciate the usefulness of statistics and shows how the interpretation of data is related to the methods by which data was obtained. The author includes coverage of the scientific method, levels of measurement and the interpretation of tables.

This book covers a lot of ground but some chapters felt a bit overwhelming. I like the practical examples, but I had to reread a few sections to fully grasp the material. Overall, a decent resource for social science stats.

Excellent for Statistical Methods
I’m using this book for my social sciences degree, and it’s fantastic! The chapters on statistical methods are really clear, and the exercises help reinforce what you learn. Definitely worth it if stats aren't your strong suit.

Not What I Hoped For
I bought this thinking it would be more straightforward. The content is useful, but I found it a bit too academic for my taste. It didn’t click with me like I thought it would. Maybe it’s more suited for those already familiar with stats.

Great Intro to Social Science Stats
I picked up 'Statistics for the Social Sciences' for my grad course, and it’s been super helpful! The explanations are clear, and it even has some cool case studies to illustrate the concepts. If you're starting out, this book is a solid choice.

A Bit Complicated
While 'Statistics for the Social Sciences' has some great information, I struggled with how dense some of the content is. It’s not the easiest read if you're new to stats. I appreciate the effort put into it, but it could be simplified a bit more.
