Ever wonder how a suspension bridge can cross a gap thousands of feet wide? Want to know how to build a comfortable lounge chair out of cardboard boxes? Or what keeps a massive cathedral dome from collapsing? Discover the answers to these and many more questions in Steven Caneys Ultimate Building Book, a wonderfully comprehensive exploration of design, construction, and invention that will stimulate the curiosity of children and adults alike. Much as David Macaulays blockbuster The Way Things Work did for machines and devices a decade ago, this definitive volume from bestselling author Steven Caney details the ins and outs of construction in all its fascinating forms. Packed with exciting building projects guaranteed to engage anyone from age 4 to 104, the Ultimate Building Book gives easytofollow instructions for creating amazing models and toys that are as much fun to make as they are to play with! Readers are also introduced to a wide variety of household materials and tools that can be used for building, along with fascinating insights into the architectural and design properties of everything from drinking straws to yurts. A mammoth project in its own right, this book has been under construction for more than a decade. The result is hundreds of superbly illustrated pages that will enlighten and fascinate armchair architects of all ages for years to come.

Steven Caney's book is packed with a range of building projects that cater to different skill levels. My twins, aged 8, have enjoyed making both simple and more complex builds. It’s a fantastic tool for fostering creativity!

Great book but some projects are tricky
This book has some creative ideas, but I found a couple of the projects harder than expected. My kids love it, but I had to help them more than I thought I would. Still, it sparks their imagination!

Not as engaging as expected
I bought this book thinking my son would be thrilled, but he lost interest quickly. The ideas are neat, but he didn't find them as exciting as I hoped. Maybe it's great for older kids, but not for my 7-year-old.

Good book but shipping took ages
The content of this building book seems good, but I was disappointed with the long shipping time. It took almost two weeks to arrive, and I was really looking forward to it. The book itself is fine, just wish it had come faster!

A must-have for aspiring builders!
I grabbed Steven Caney's Ultimate Building Book for my son who loves to build things. The illustrations are super helpful, and the projects are fun and varied. We’ve tackled a few and they’re easy enough for him to follow without much guidance from me!
